This is likely the last post of 2012, so I just wanted to say I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! Ride and/or drive safely and let's ring in 2013 with style.

Catch you in the new year. =^D

And for fun, let's have the year in review.

The Amazing Spider-Man follows Peter Parker, a teenage outcast searching for the reason why his parents disappeared over a decade ago. After finding his father's old briefcase in his basement he is led to Dr. Curt Connors, his father's old business partner, who quickly reveals his dangerous alter-ego and sets Peter on his journey to self discovery after being bitten by a genetically altered

I'm a little behind on this but oh well. We have our first look at the second chapter of The Devil's Carnival. We were introduced to The Devil's Carnival this past spring and summer with the road show put on by director Darren Lynn Bousman and co-creator Terrance Zdunich. I saw the road show in Denver and I was impressed for the most part. It was enjoyable. I'm intrigued enough to continue with

Beasts of the Southern Wild follows a young girl named Hushpuppy who lives with her ill father in the small Delta community, "The Bathtub." In the wake of a storm and her father's fading health she is forced to venture off to find her mother and learn how to make her own mark on the world.

The only reason I wound up seeing this movie is because of the early awards season buzz, to be honest. I

We reflected on the best and worst films of 2012, so how about we reflect on the most annoying parts of the year as well as the biggest shit storms.

Jessica Simpson's pregnancy

It's always a big deal when a celebrity gets pregnant. That's just how it is. However, the attention social media paid to Jessica Simpson was ridiculous. Yes, she ate too much and gained like 80lbs during her pregnancy.
Mockingbird Lane, the attempt at rebooting The Munsters, has been officially passed over by NBC. The show had a Halloween pilot which drew a decent amount of viewers (5.4 million) and gave the network its best rating in a Friday time slot in the past 2 years. I guess that wasn't enough for them, though.

I didn't watch Mockingbird Lane but I honestly feel like Bryan Fuller is just getting screwed

We now have the first 4 minutes of the new zombie to human love story, Warm Bodies.
Yeah... I'm still not seeing it.

It was announced that J.J. Abrams declined the offer to direct Star Wars: Episode VII back in November, but now we know that he not only entertained the idea but was in early conversations with Kathleen Kennedy to direct. However, Abrams now revealed that he initially turned down the offer because of his loyalty to Star Trek.

“I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just

Hello again, everyone.

My previous post dealt with the worst films of 2012, so now it is time to reflect on the best films of 2012. I want to remind everyone this is a list of the movies I have personally seen and also note that I am aware the year is not over. I still plan on seeing one or two more movies this year, so I might alter this list after the fact. Good? Excellent. Let's get started!
Ahh, ladies and gentlemen.

It is that time of the year once again where we reflect on the best and worst films of the year. I will do a separate post on the best films of 2012, but I figured why not start off with the bad things that happen. When you do that things only go uphill. There is no particular order to these except for the first and I explain that. So let's get this party started!

I don't know if it's the fact that they used the Beetlejuice theme or the fact that this just looks 100% unfunny, but I will definitely pass on this one. Scary Movie hasn't been funny since the 2nd film.

After months of speculation and after basically being fired by Universal earlier in the summer, it appears that Kristen Stewart is on board to reprise her role as Snow White in the upcoming sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.
Earlier this year it was reported that Stewart was not being invited to return for the sequel after she was caught cheating on her boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert
AMC has renewed the growing zombie apocalypse drama The Walking Dead for a fourth season. In addition to this news, AMC released that showrunner Glen Mazzara has parted ways with the show and the network due to "differences in opinion." Mazzara will remain as showrunner for the second half of the third season set to return in January, but after that we will no longer have him.

I don't understand
The upcoming Disney film Planes, a spin-off from Cars, is set for theatrical release on August 9, 2013. It was originally reported to be a Direct-to-DVD movie but John Lasseter is so fond of it, apparently, that he wants it to be theatrical.

I personally think Planes looks dumb as far as concept goes. The photo they released looks just like Cars only with an airplane. I wasn't a huge fan of
Pitch Perfect follows Beca, a college freshman who aspires to be a famous DJ. While trying to find where she belongs during her first year of college she is coerced into an all-girl A Capella singing group and along the way finds what she has been looking for the whole year.

I wanted to see Pitch Perfect in theaters but I never got around to it, so I went ahead and picked up the DVD this week.
MTV announced the host for their 2013 Movie Awards show set to air on April 14th. The host will be none other than Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect). To most people, I think, she is known as the stupid fat blonde chick from Bridesmaids.
Wilson will be the first female host since Sarah Silverman hosted in 2007. Since Silverman hosted we have had rather shitty hosts in Andy Samberg, Russell

I cannot wait for this movie.

Damon Lindelof, who re-wrote Prometheus, has confirmed he is not returning to write the sequel. Lindelof mentioned a conversation he had with Ridley Scott and apparently said he has other commitments that will prevent him from writing the sequel for Prometheus.

Vulture nailed it by predicting that he is not writing the sequel mainly because so many people blamed the writing for Prometheus'
I posted about Kristen Stewart joining an upcoming Ben Affleck movie called Focus. She was set to be his love interest in the film. Well, it seems that she will have to be another guy's love interest as Affleck has dropped out of the film. Afflecks' rep is citing scheduling conflicts as the reasoning.
Either way they will have to cast someone fairly soon because filming is set to begin in April.

None other than Jackie Chan, the famous Chinese stunt man and actor, has joined the cast for The Expendables 3. According to Chan he was invited to join The Expendables 2 but declined due to another commitment. He also confirmed that his agreement to join was under the stipulation that he has a minor role with very little screen time.

The Expendables 3 is set to hit theaters in 2014.
[REC] 3: Genesis follows a couple on their wedding day as they witness pandemonium and terror when a zombie outbreak infiltrates the wedding and infects their guests.

I will admit that I am a fan of [REC] and [REC] 2. I also did enjoy Quarantine a lot. Hell, I even enjoyed Quarantine 2 for what it was worth. I had added [REC] 3 to my Netflix months ago and was waiting for it to become
I am one of the people who assumed James Franco would return for the Planet of the Apes sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. However, with a recent MTV interview Franco revealed he might not return after all.

After Jason Segel confirmed he wouldn't be returning for the sequel to The Muppets there has been a search for a new human lead character. Ty Burrell (Modern Family) has recently been cast as the main human rival, but there hasn't been word on the "good guy" until now. Apparently Ricky Gervais, you know the guy who was banned from hosting the Golden Globes, is in talks for the role.

Now... I

This is pretty random but I love it.

AMC announced they are going to be airing seasons 1 and 2 (18 episodes total) of The Walking Dead in black and white starting this February. They aired the season 1 pilot in black and white earlier and I missed it, but the pictures I have seen from it look pretty cool. They are saying the reasoning is to give fans more of a comic book feel since the books are

People are acting like this is a "duh" story and I'm not so sure it is. Basically, Garrett Hedlund confirmed during a press junket that he will be returning as Sam Flynn in a third Tron film (aka, the followup to Tron: Legacy).

Casting for this movie was speculated after Disney changed the writers for the film and websites are all, they aren't in the habit of recasting the lead roles etc.. I

Ah yes, all the nominations are in full swing. The Globes at least gave us some variety by including Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and more of The Master and Django Unchained, but they are still quite similar to the Critics Choice and SAG nominees. I am surprised that they stiffed ParaNorman for Best Animated Film, though. It should have been there over Hotel Transylvania. I can only predict what

There is also a motion poster that Collider has live.

The 2013 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards have announced their nominees. Not only is this list almost identical to the Critics Choice nominees that were announced yesterday, but I guarantee it will also be identical to the Golden Globe nominees. I am seeing a trend and I bet you the same names will be on the nomination list for the Oscars. It's pathetic. Although I must admit I am surprised SAG
We now have the first trailer for The Haunting in Connecticut 2: The Ghosts of Georgia. I haven't laughed that much all week. I didn't even know this was happening until this morning. I mean, I liked The Haunting in Connecticut for what it was worth but it definitely didn't merit a sequel. Especially one that has absolutely nothing to do with the first movie.

There has been much speculation about the villain to be in Star Trek Into Darkness. All we have known so far is that the villain is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. We now have confirmation via an image released by Paramount Pictures that Cumberbatch's character is named John Harrison.

I don't know too much about the whole Star Trek universe so the name honestly doesn't ring a bell for me.

The upcoming Rob Zombie film, Lords of Salem, has received an official release date. Anchor Bay is releasing the film on April 26, 2013. The film's release will also get a coinciding novelization to be released about a month earlier on March 12, 2013.

no word on if this is going to be a wide theatrical release, a theatrical release at all, or a direct-to-dvd.
Kristen Stewart has confirmed she will be starring opposite Ben Affleck in the con-artist comedy film Focus. The film is set to start shooting in April and is to be directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love). The basic plot revealed so far is as follows:

Sound of My Voice follows Lorna and Peter, a couple making a documentary about cults. In order to provide first hand experience to their film they become involved with a cult led by a young woman who claims to be from the year 2054.

Let me start off by saying this movie sucked me in very quickly and kept me pulled in so much that I watched half of the end credits to see if there would be more.
We might as well just call 2015 the year for superhero movies. It seems like every sequel or major movie is coming out that year. So far we have The Avengers 2, Ant-Man, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Star Wars Episode VII, and the announced Justice League movie. On top of this 21st Century Fox has released an announced date for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The release for this

We finally have the first teaser for Star Trek Into Darkness. I enjoyed the hell out of JJ Abrams' Star Trek despite not being a big "Trekkie" but I am excited for this one. Not to mention it looks a lot better than the first.

The National Board of Review, the second major critics organization, released their list of 2012 winners for achievement in film. Seeing that the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past has a time travel element it has been confirmed that we will see various versions of the characters. Sometimes I truly love random findings when it comes to YouTube.
These users have made videos made of the zombie kills from The Walking Dead, both seasons one and two. I love it.

1. Why is it so damn fuzzy?
2. I really, really hate the logo.

We can put the casting rumors for Harry Osborn aside. Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) has been confirmed for the role via Marc Webb's Twitter account. This comes shortly after Shailene Woodley (The Descendents) was confirmed for the role of Mary Jane Watson. Filming for The Amazing Spiderman 2 is set to take place early in 2013 so it is ready for the May 4, 2014 release.

I still haven't seen The Amazing

Rise of the Guardians

The Pirates! Band of Misfits

As you can see, a majority of the nominees were wide release films. Movies like The Lorax and Ice Age missed out this year...
This kind of looks like the Dark Knight Rises poster, but oh well. I'm excited.

This weekend was the Governors Awards in Los Angeles. It is an event that gives a lot of foreshadowing to the Academy Award possibilities and gives potential Oscar hopefuls the chance to expose themselves to the press and promote their films.
According to EW there was a general consensus hinting at Best Picture possibilities; those being Life of Pi, Argo, Les Miserables, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty
Rick McCallum, a Star Wars producer who was "instrumental" in bringing back the saga, announced via StarWars.com that he will be leaving Lucasfilm. McCallum says the move is so he can produce independent films and historical dramas.

Samuel L. Jackson announced that his Marvel character Nick Fury won't be seen again until 2014 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He mentioned that Fury or any other Avengers character won't appear in Iron Man 3 and added that he won't appear in Thor: The Dark World. It is possible he will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy in between Captain America 2 and The Avengers 2.

Bummer dude.

We all knew this was coming.

Hugh Jackman is apparently in talks to reprise his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Jackman had a very short cameo as Wolverine in X-Men: First Class. He has also appeared as Wolverine in X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not to mention he is close to wrapping the upcoming film The Wolverine which focuses on Wolverine's

The Raid: Redemption is an Indonesian action film which follows a group of SWAT members on a building raid where a powerful and seemingly untouchable gang leader and his thugs trap them inside.

Paramount announced the release of a fifth installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise. The fifth film is set for release on October 25, 2013. No details as far as directors or cast have been released, but Oren Peli and Jason Blum will once again return to produce.

I just want this franchise to end. It's run its course already, imo.

A brand new, full trailer for Man of Steel has been confirmed to screen before The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are teaming up once again for Insidious Chapter 2, the sequel to their 2011 film Insidious. Wan will be directing and the script will be written by Whannell. I don't know how reliable this is just yet but I figured it was worthy of mentioning.

Rupert Sanders, the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, apparently will not be returning for the sequel according to Cinema Blend. Snow White served as Sanders' directorial debut and was a fairly big box office hit taking in over $400 million worldwide and subsequently had a sequel approved by Universal

I am laughing, holy crap. The saddest part is I will probably watch this when it's on DVD. It looks hilariously terrible.

In Breaking Dawn Part 2, the Cullens and newborn vampire Bella must face the Volturi after a claim is made that Bella and Edward's daughter is an immortal child. A claim that, in the vampire world, is a very high offense punishable by death.

September 15, 2015 to be exact.

Sony is already developing a sequel to Hotel Transylvania which was just released this past September. I didn't see it but I didn't hear bad things. I'll catch it when it's on DVD. If I like it I guess you can count be in for the sequel.

Earlier this summer it was basically announced that Universal was going a different route for an announced sequel for Snow White and the Huntsman... a sequel that apparently would not include Kristen Stewart and/or Rupert Sanders. As you may have heard those two made Hollywood headlines after being caught cheating on their significant others and being dumb enough to do it in public. After the
Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed they have selected a writer for Star Wars: Episode VII. This writer is Oscar winner Michael Arndt. He won an Oscar for his screenplay for Little Miss Sunshine and was nominated for Toy Story 3. He also wrote the screenplay for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire which is currently filming.

I don't really have anything to say about this. I am just sharing the info.

Yeah, this looks really bad. Even after all the rewrites, the delays, and whatever else that plagued this movie it just looks like a shit storm with bad CGI. If I wanted to see CGI zombies I would go play Left 4 Dead on my Xbox. I will most likely pass on this one, unfortunately.
Fuck, it even looks like Twilight. John Malkovich... I am disappoint.

Go to Collider to see the trailer from ET.

He left us!

I have avoided this for a couple days but I felt I should post it after all.

The newest rumor on the rumor mill regarding the new Star Wars trilogy Disney is shoving down our throats is this... Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) is in talks to direct Star Wars: Episode VII. If this is true it could potentially give good reason why he dropped out of the director's chair for X-Men: Days

I labeled this random because it is just that. I have been on a Michael Jackson kick for a good solid week now and I just felt like sharing my top MJ songs. Some of them are popular and some not so much.
Let me just say this as well... I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson's music. When I was little my mother tried to shelter the best she could and I was often given these choices when it
Entertainment Tonight hosted a first look at the upcoming adaptation of Max Brooks' novel World War Z. The film stars Brad Pitt and has, for the most part, been a disaster so far. This film has been plagued with delays, rewrites, recasts, etc.. But, it is finally on its way and we will have the first trailer this Thursday (11/8).

World War Z is set to be released on June 21, 2013.

I don't normally do recaps or much of anything for television shows but I am a Walking Dead fan and I just had to talk about this week's episode. It left me in kind of a sad state of shock. And in case you were curious this will contain spoilers so if you didn't watch tonight's episode just yet then I would wait to read this. Click the jump if you are prepared.

Wreck-It Ralph follows Ralph, the bad guy in a 30-year old arcade game who strives to be accepted and to finally be classified as a "good guy." As Ralph jumps between different arcade games he encounters unlikely allies, challenges, and new friends who help him find who he wants to be.

I was excited for Wreck-It Ralph since I first saw a trailer back in May or June. I thought the concept looked

News has broken that director Francis Lawrence will return to direct both installments of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay scheduled for 2014 and 2015 releases. Lawrence is currently directing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, so there really is no telling if this is a good or bad thing just yet, so we will have to wait and see.

In a way I am happy about this because the biggest downfall to sagas
Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the villain in The Amazing Spiderman sequel. Which villain? None other than Electro... apparently.

When Shailene Woodley was confirmed for the role of Mary Jane Watson there were rumors circulating about who the main villain will be in the sequel. We heard rumors of Electro and I guess that was justified. This should be interesting.

With the departure of Matthew Vaughn happened for the upcoming First Class sequel happened there were questions about who would step in to fill the director's chair. We now have confirmation that Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2) will be directing X-Men: Days of Future Past.

We now have a sneak peek inside the closet where Carrie spends some time in the upcoming reboot of the 1976 classic.

Carrie is set to open March 15, 2013 and stars Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore.
We have the first images for Iron Man 3 along with a teaser poster. Enjoy them as much as I did.

Frank Grillo (Warrior, The Grey) confirmed via Twitter that he is in the testing phase for a villain role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The other villain roles have yet to be announced nor is there confirmation that Grillo is in fact joining the cast, but I think he would make a pretty decent villain. I can't wait to hear who the other villains are.

So far the only confirmations we

Excision tells the story of an off-beat teenage girl who has aspirations of becoming a surgeon. She is, however, plagued with delusional fantasies and the overwhelming desire to impress her parents and to save her younger sister who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.

Let me just start off by saying the advertising for this movie is incredibly misleading. It is practically nothing like what the
Surprise!

Well, not really. Paramount announced they will be releasing a fifth installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise next Halloween. Since the first PA film was released in 2009 people have pretty much gone ape shit for it. I have never been a fan of the films and I haven't seen Paranormal Activity 4 yet, but this comes to no surprise to me.

Some people are questioning why Paramount

And it looks as terrible and the movie sounds. If you didn't hear anything about Warm Bodies it is basically Twilight with a zombie and stars Nicholas Hoult.

Add yet another Justice League related bit of potential truth to the pile. A very large pile.

According to the LA Times, Warner Bros. is hoping to complete a Justice League film no later than next year so it can be released in the summer of 2015, a little bit after The Avengers 2 which is set for May 2015.

Will Beall is already working on a script but so far the only DC film we have on the way
We have the first plot details for Iron Man 3 which are as follows:

to protect those closest to him as he seeks to destroy the enemy and
his cohorts. When Stark finds his personal world

If you didn't know I am a fairly big Disneyland buff. I love the park and all things Disney in general, for the most part. While doing some reading I found some interesting insider information that confirms what many people have been pondering, or dreading, since Disney obtained Marvel... will Marvel characters be integrated into the Disney theme parks? The answer is yes.

According to Al Lutz, a
IGN has the official plot synopsis for the upcoming film Kick-Ass 2, originally released by Universal:

After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked
crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our
hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted

I am excited for Carrie but this isn't a very good teaser, imo. The teaser for Evil Dead beat this one and I didn't think I would have ever said that. Here's to hoping the full length trailer is more exciting.
Marvel has announced a couple details about the Cinematic Universe today.

First off, both Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will be 3D releases. Other than The Avengers I don't think there has been a 3D Iron Man film yet, but Thor was released in 3D last year so that isn't surprising. None of this is surprising, actually. Just about every film Disney releases these days is in 3D. There haven't

New York Comic Con has had a fair share of information so far and yet another piece is the first image from the upcoming Evil Dead reboot. There was also a teaser trailer that has yet to surface online.

Personally... I thought this was a photo from The Exorcist. I have yet to become excited for this reboot.

EDIT [10-15-12]: I just saw a ripped copy of the NYCC teaser trailer. I have to
New York Comic Con had both a panel and a new poster for the upcoming Carrie reboot starring Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore. There is also a viral marketing piece being spread around where you can call Carrie's cell phone (207-404-2604) and receive a response from either Carrie or her mother. I did it last night and admit it is a fun little trick. There was also a short teaser trailer but that
Joss Whedon has confirmed that Agent Phil Coulson played by Clark Gregg will be featured in the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. television show. Whedon explained at New York Comic Con this past weekend how Agent Coulson became an important character to both the writers and the fans and there was no way the show would exist without him.

We all saw Agent Coulson's fate during The Avengers so it will be

The rumors for The Amazing Spiderman 2 have begun circulating. The first two are regarding potential casting for Mary Jane Watson and a possible villain.

First off... Mary Jane. The latest rumor is that Shailene Woodley (The Descendants, Secret Life of an American Teenager) is in talks for the role. Along with Marc Webb returning to direct, Emma Stone is also going to return to reprise the role

Frankenweenie tells the tale of a young boy named Victor who brings his perished dog Sparky back to life. Little does he know the consequences of his scientific breakthrough as it creates mayhem in his small town of New Holland.

I have been excited for Frankenweenie since early this year. I saw the first trailer and I was immediately pumped. I loved Tim Burton's original 1984 Frankenweenie film
As you may have read last week, I went on vacation but I am now back. I wish you a happy October and I hope you make it as Halloween filled as I will make mine. To start things off here is an on-ride POV of Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland.

We now have a trailer for the upcoming James Bond movie, Skyfall, featuring the new theme song by Adele. I personally love the song and I think it fits well with the trailer. This one looks better than the previous trailer I saw and I will definitely be seeing Skyfall now.

Friday, September 28, 2012

In a short while I will be off for my vacation so there most likely won't be any updates on here this upcoming week. I am positive I will miss some news and whatever else but I will catch up as I always do.

Everyone have a good week!
We have announcements already for the sequel to The Amazing Spiderman. Apparently Marc Webb will return to direct despite a lot of rumors that he wasn't going to and Andrew Garfield will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spiderman. Emma Stone is in negotiations to return as well but is not confirmed yet.

I still haven't seen The Amazing Spiderman so I most likely won't see the sequel in theaters,

The Paranormal Activity franchise has been successful primarily due to the fact that they utilize trailers and make them seem interesting and/or good. I have never been a fan of these movies but I did admit that I thought the trailer for Paranormal Activity 3 made it look decent. However, that movie was just as much of a shit show as the previous ones were.
With that said, the trailer for

This was rumored a couple months ago and I don't think I talked about it. Basically they were talking about doing a female version of The Expendables. Collider had a fantasy cast that I saw back in August, but now we have confirmation that one of their wish girls has been cast to lead the rest of the ladies. That girl is none other than former American Gladiators star Gina Carano.

Carano was

Hello again.

Two long standing actors have joined the cast for Thor: The Dark World.

Starting off we have Richard Brake (Batman Begins) who has been cast as the captain of the Einherjar warriors. In the Marvel universe the warriors, led by Ander, are responsible for the training of Thor. It is unclear whether Brake is playing the role of Ander but he has been officially added.

The other person added is

So if you didn't see The Collector you probably have no idea what is going on. However, if you did see it then this is the inevitable sequel we all knew was coming. Ladies and gentlemen... The Collection.

Personally, I liked The Collector for what it was. I thought it was pretty well done. This movie, however, looks like a mixture of Saw and trying to re-create the first one. Then again, it's

If you saw The Avengers you know Thanos appeared in the mid-credits scene. There was a lot of speculation as to where Thanos would show up in future Marvel films. There is now confirmation that Thanos will appear in two Marvel Phase 2 films; Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2.

I assumed/guessed Thanos wouldn't appear sooner than Guardians of the Galaxy and I am happy to see that I was

The powers that be who run the Academy Awards have shuffled things for the 2013 awards season. Usually nominations for the Academy Awards follow the Golden Globes, but in 2013 the Oscar nominees will be announced on January 10th which puts the announcement 3 days before the Globes. This is a good movie, imo. The Golden Globes always seem to be more playful than serious and I think they always had
Director James Gunn (Super, Slither) has been officially confirmed to re-write and direct the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. The film is due August 1, 2014.

I say hell yes. James Gunn is fucking awesome.

A&E has cast child star Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland) as Norman Bates in the upcoming show Bates Motel, the Psycho prequel set to air next year. He joins Vera Farmiga who previously signed on to play Bates' mother.

Bates Motel will be set in the present day and will follow Norman living with his mother.
We have some images from the set of Kick-Ass 2 featuring Chloe Moretz and Aaron Johnson.

I am still pretty excited for this movie. Seeing Hit-Girl with a new mask made me squeal a bit. /fangirl

I am a pretty big Disney fan in general, but I absolutely love Disney/Pixar flicks. I decided to go see Finding Nemo 3D seeing that I already saw Beauty and the Beast 3D earlier this year. I am not necessarily reviewing the movie itself because Finding Nemo is awesome and has been for years, but I wanted to touch on the Toy Story short, Partysaurus Rex, before the movie and the 3D itself.

I wrote a couple days ago that there was a rumor circulating that Viggo Mortensen might be added to the cast of Thor: The Dark World as Doctor Strange. We now have confirmation that it's not true. Marvel said they would love to work with Mortensen at some point but he is not signed or attached to any Marvel project at this time.

Bummer.

*screams* This is why we can't have nice things.

Bravo announced they are in the process of adapting a show from the 1988 teen film Heathers. The film starred a very young Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. If you have never seen this movie go watch it now. Just do it.

Basically the show will take place in present day and will follow Veronica Sawyer (Ryder's character) as she brings her
Despite previous rumors that we were going to get an extended director's cut Blu-Ray for The Dark Knight Rises, with around 30min of extra footage, it has now been confirmed that we will not. Christopher Nolan doesn't seem one for director's cut releases and I guess he isn't about to start now.

I was looking forward to seeing Bane's origin story and whatever else was within that 30 minutes, but

According to Chris Evans, filming for Captain America: The Winter Soldier will begin in March 2013. The film is slated for release on April 4, 2014 so getting an early start definitely won't hurt anyone. Captain America: The First Avenger had a 13-month production as well so they might figure whatever worked the first time will work again.

Other than the assumed return of Sebastian Stan as Bucky
Prepare to have her nausea become "our nausea" once again... Liza Minnelli will be reprising her role as Lucille Austero (aka, Lucille 2) in the upcoming season of Arrested Development. Lucille 2 is the former girlfriend of Buster Bluth and neighbor/enemy of Lucille Bluth.

A new rumor has surfaced regarding Thor: The Dark World. Rumor has it, according to this Twitter account, that Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) is in talks for an unspecified role in Marvel Phase 2. The rumored role? Doctor Strange.

It has been confirmed that Daniel Craig will return to reprise the role of James Bond for at least two more films following Skyfall. Including Skyfall he has appeared as Bond in three films total with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace also under his 007 belt.

I personally am not happy about this because I think Daniel Craig is a lousy Bond, but whatever. He is popular an it's more about money
JJ Abrams has revealed the official title for the upcoming Star Trek sequel. The title is Star Trek Into the Darkness... 3D.

This title sounds dumb, imo.

Jeffrey Wright (Casino Royale, Source Code) is the newest addition to the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Wright has been cast as Beetee, a former victor from District 3 and is somewhat of an electronics expert. Click the jump for spoiler info on Beetee.

The newest trailer for The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiered last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. The show itself was meh, despite Kevin Hart being hilarious, and so was this trailer. All I really had to say after watching it was at least they added a fight at the end. The ending of the book pissed me off because nothing happens. The Volturi basically show themselves to be a

After failed attempts, including one last year, to bring Wonder Woman to television it appears that The CW has picked up the character and is developing a show called Amazon. There is no timetable on when a pilot episode will be filmed or anything like that, but I guess Wonder Woman will be added to the superhero friendly network. The CW has already had the long lasting Superman origins show
