An extended edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be digitally released by Warner Bros. on October 22nd, as if it needed even more footage. The edition features 13min of additional footage along with 9 hours of bonus features. On November 5th the extended edition will hit 3-disc Blu-ray ($35.99), 5-disc DVD ($34.99), and 3D Blu-ray ($54.98). Each format will also include an

The CW seems to be enjoying their recent hit Arrow as they have announced they are developing a new series, The Flash, from the creators of Arrow. Barry Allen (aka, The Flash) will be introduced in Arrow and will then spin-off with his own series.
With this it does appear that The CW is looking to bank on their own mini-DC universe, but it still won't include Wonder Woman. At least not yet. With
Spike Lee's adaptation of Oldboy has been pushed from October 25th to November 27th. The film had already been pushed from October 11th to the 25th. There is no reasoning other than the lack of genre competition over the Thanksgiving week. Oldboy will be competing with Disney's newest animated feature Frozen and the Jason Statham flick Homefront.
Another reason they might not want to mention just

With the Star Wars Celebration wrapping up in Germany we learned many things. I previously posted (link) about Kathleen Kennedy vowing to stick with a good mix of practical effects and CGI and we can rest assured that J.J. Abrams isn't leaving Star Wars. We also learned the location and dates of the next Star Wars Celebration.

Yes indeed, the next Celebration will take place in Anaheim, CA
Executive Producer Kathleen Kennedy is starting to speak out about Star Wars: Episode VII due to the Star Wars Celebration in Germany this weekend. She stated that as of right now she is splitting her time between Lucasfilm and Bad Robot to meet with J.J. Abrams and the writers citing that all they are focusing right now is the story and the characters. Kennedy believes if you don't spend the
Denis O'Hare, who played the burn victim Larry Harvey in season one, is returning for American Horror Story: Coven. The show's third season is centered around witchcraft and also stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, and Angela Bassett.

O'Hare has been in numerous things, both TV and film, and is an absolutely fantastic actor. He most recently portrayed the relentless

Seeing that there is practically nothing else to talk about and so many Disney attractions are going the movie route, I figured I would share the current Disneyland attractions from my most to least favorite with #1 being the most. Bear in mind this list is limited to the rides I have been on and won't include any that I have never experienced. Good? Excellent. Here we go!

The Wolverine follows Logan to Japan where he is summoned to meet a friend from the past. Little does he know the physical and personal conflicts that are ahead of him will show him not only what it is like to be mortal, but they shape who he is destined to be.

Going into The Wolverine I didn't really know what to expect. I knew it was a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand and has Logan isolated
After some speculation and rumors, we now have confirmation that composer John Williams will return to the Star Wars franchise to score Episode VII. This shows J.J. Abrams making a bold move as he is breaking apart from his frequent composer Michael Giacchino who has scored all of Abrams' previous films.

Williams scored all six of the previous Star Wars films and has made some of the most iconic

Variety is reporting that FilmEngine and Benderspink are looking to reboot the 2004 film The Butterfly Effect. The film starred Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart (and also a young Logan Lerman) and told the story of a young man who was able to travel back in time to change the fate of his and his friends lives in an attempt to fix the results of several childhood traumas. The Butterfly Effect also had
It appears that Joss Whedon is trying to make up for lost screen time.

After revealing that Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) was going to have a bigger role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Whedon also elaborated on how Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) will be a big part of the sequel as well. This comes after some criticism came after the two characters had very low screen time compared to the other

Director Spike Lee has turned to Kickstarter in an attempt to raise $1.25 million to fund an upcoming film project. His time limit? 30 days.

The current Kickstarter trend was started after musician Amanda Palmer, formerly of The Dresden Dolls, unexpectedly raised over $1 million (after setting a $100,000 goal) in May 2012 to fund her album Theatre Is Evil. Following suit were Kickstarter pushes

Well, I can't say I'm unhappy about this one.

Sacha Baron Cohen has left the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic over creative differences. If you don't know who Freddie Mercury is then I just feel sorry for you.

I'm just kidding. He is the late singer of the band Queen. Baron had been cast as Mercury quite a while ago and cited disagreements and creative differences with the living members of
We have some post-CC news for X-Men: Days of Future Past. We now have an official logo along with two character posters for Magneto and Professor X.

I think these look great and it definitely boosted my excitement level a bit.
I know I'm not the only one who has waited for this.

According to the internet there are various sources suggesting J.J. Abrams is close to dropping out of Star Wars: Episode VII.

You may be aware that it was recently announced filming would begin soon as the production has already moved to London, England to make the 2015 release. A move that Abrams protested severely, but in the end he was overruled by the studio. According to sources the

Or so Joss Whedon says. Now bear in mind this is the same guy who assured us Iron Man 3 wouldn't have the Iron Patriot, so I take what he says with a grain of salt.

But on with it... Joss Whedon has said that the upcoming Avengers sequel, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, will not be based off the Age of Ultron comic arc where Wolverine and the Invisible Woman are sent into the past to kill Ant-Man
We got our first image of Caesar from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Such a tongue twister.

Director Matt Reeves warned guests at Comic-Con that the footage of the apes was limited due to the fact that it takes 10-12 weeks to render a single ape, but we do have enough to see Caesar wearing some war paint. I still think the apes look ridiculously real. I am excited for this one.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier seems to be the first Phase Two movie that will actually acknowledge the post-Avengers world. Comic-Con revealed that Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) fights alongside Captain America (Chris Evans) while he struggles with adjusting to the modern world.

The panel consisted of Chris Evans, Frank Grillo, Emily Van Camp, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Samuel
We managed to get a new trailer for Thor: The Dark World at Comic-Con but that was about it. And that should be taken literally.

No panel. No Q&A session. Nothing except a trailer. Oh, and this but it kind of already came out.

However, the trailer did come in style. Kevin Feige brought in Tom Hiddleston as Loki for the last time to present the trailer. I found the Loki introduction on
Say hello to The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Kevin Feige gave fans more than was expected including the surprise Guardians of the Galaxy panel and now the official title for The Avengers sequel. Feige brought in Joss Whedon to reveal a trailer of quotes for The Avengers that ends with Nick Fury telling Maria Hill that the group would be coming back together, and then the camera pans to reveal
Along with the publicized panels for Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel decided to surprise Comic-Con guests with a panel and footage from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Kevin Feige brought out director James Gunn who was joined by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Benicio del Toro, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Lee Pace, and Djimon Hounsou.

Apparently this is the panel that got the first standing ovation in Hall H.

Along with The Wolverine and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Fox brought X-Men: Days of Future Past to Comic-Con and had a gigantic panel consisting of old and new X-Men actors. In attendance was Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, Shawn
The new Comic-Con trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is upon us!

I honestly think it's better than the first trailer we got. I want to see more of the other victors, but at the same time I like that they focused on Katniss and Peeta. I still highly encourage everyone to read the books prior to seeing the movie.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters on November 22nd.

WB has announced their movie plans for the DC universe after several stalls regarding Justice League and the future of all the characters. What we know as of right now is:

A Batman/Superman movie will hit in 2015 in what is described as the sequel to Man of Steel. It is expected that Henry Cavill, Zack Snyder, and Christopher Nolan will all return and I'm sure we will see more information on who

Today we had the panel and Q&A for AMC's The Walking Dead at Comic-Con. We not only learned that season 4 will premiere on October 13th, but we also have the first trailer for the season. It looks like things heat up quite a bit.

A lot of people, including myself, were a bit disappointed about how Season 3 ended but by the looks of this trailer... Season 4 is going to kick some serious ass.

We have a new, extended trailer for Kick-Ass 2 straight from Comic-Con in San Diego. It is branded NSFW primarily due to violence and language, but other than that it's good to go. I personally think it is a bit too long and it probably showed a majority of cool stuff in the movie, but that is pretty much what trailers do these days.

The Conjuring tells the true story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They encounter a supernatural force while investigating the Perron household in 1971. What they find is both disturbing and dangerous.

I have been excited for this movie ever since I saw the clapping teaser trailer earlier this year. I am also a big fan of James Wan's work so I probably would have seen it

I saw this on Twitter earlier. Check out my review of The Conjuring here.

The Conjuring is James Wan's newest horror film and stars Lili Taylor, Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Ron Livingston based on the true story of the Perron family. It starts this Friday, July 19th.

2013 might be the first year since 2009 without a Paranormal Activity film. Sources say that Paramount Pictures is considering delaying the film from October 25, 2013 until an unannounced date in 2014. They are citing uncertainty that the film is exactly what they want. It has been test screened and has received positive numbers, but the studio still isn't positive it's the result they want.
Just when you think you can have nice things, leave it to Hollywood to rain on your parade.

New Line Cinema has made a point to mention their plans to make more films based off the Warrens, the paranormal investigators in which The Conjuring revolves around. You have seen other movies already based off their cases including The Amityville Horror (1979 & 2005) and The Haunting in Connecticut (
Well these are just fantastic.

I am getting very excited for Catching Fire.

Back in March at the SXSW premiere of his Evil Dead reboot, director Fede Alvarez announced a sequel was in the planning stages. Since the film has been released on DVD (today to be exact) Alvarez has begun to discuss the sequel a bit more.

Alvarez said they are still working with Sam Raimi and discussing exactly what they want to do with the sequel. He also said being a child of the 80's, he
So far the only project announced for Universal Studios' annual Halloween Horror Nights was for The Cabin in the Woods. Now we have some news that there will also be a haunted maze for Evil Dead. From what I understand, there isn't going to be a panel for Carrie seeing that it had a presence at 2012's Comic-Con because the original release date was this past March, but it looks as though they are still going to use the promotional opportunity.

Carrie opens on October 18 and stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.

HBO has chosen to renew their hit vampire drama True Blood for a seventh season. The sixth season is currently underway and, in my opinion, is as lackluster as the past 3 seasons have been. This is the first season where creator Alan Ball has not been the showrunner.
Season 7 will air next summer on HBO most likely in early to mid June.

There have been some questions about who exactly will attend Comic-Con for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire panel. We now have the answer.

The cast members attending will be Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Lenny Kravitz (Cinna), Jena Malone (Johanna), Jeffrey Wright (Beetee), and Willow Shields (Primrose). Also set to attend is director Francis
We now have the full first single, "Hail to the King," from the new Avenged Sevenfold album.

I said the preview sounded bad and you know what? The whole song sounds just as bad. I hope the whole album doesn't sound like this. It's boring, the drums are ridiculously repetitive, and it's the worst chorus. People are blaming the fact that The Rev is gone, but come on. Even the non-single songs

As you may or may not know, the studios aren't able to freely use characters as they please because certain studios own the rights to specific characters. Despite the fact that in the comic books The Avengers collaborate and appear next to Spider-Man and the X-Men, including them in the same movie is... well, it's complicated.

Hugh Jackman, who is probably most famous for his role as Wolverine,
Thanks to Comic-Con we are getting tons of new images from movies and television. One movie that is rolling out some new stuff is Carrie starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.

Sigh.

Texas Chainsaw 3D producers Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell have announced their intent to remake George Romero's 1985 zombie flick, Day of the Dead. It isn't considered Romero's greatest movie but it is no way a bad one.
Grobman has said they plan to honor Romero's original vision and will move away from the popular fast zombie and return to the slow, shuffling zombie. She stated, "our
Either someone is trying to stay anonymous or it smells awful outside. This new image from the upcoming fourth season of The Walking Dead shows Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) in a curious situation.

Despite previously announcing that he would not be directing Bond 24, Sam Mendes has officially closed the deal with Sony to direct the upcoming James Bond movie. Mendes previously directed Skyfall and did a pretty good job with it.

As I previously posted, Legendary Pictures was shopping around to find a new partner after choosing not to renew with Warner Bros. This meant a pretty great deal, especially for the DC Comics movies.
It has been announced that Legendary has chosen to partner with Universal Pictures and NBC. As a result, all Legendary properties such as The Hangover trilogy, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and

Just in time for Comic-Con this month, they have released the first teaser poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Looks pretty cool to me. Basic but not bad.

According to the rumors flying around the roles for Benicio del Toro, Lee Pace, and Karen Gillan in Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently del Toro will be playing The Collector, Pace will play Ronan the Accuser, and Gillan is responsible for Nebula.

As if the reviews weren't bad enough, the opening box office numbers for The Lone Ranger have completely removed the landing pad for the $225 million dollar movie.

The film has been destroyed at the box office by none other than Despicable Me 2. The animated flick made over $34 million on opening day alone while The Lone Ranger failed to make $10 million. Yes, you read that right. It couldn't
HBO has released a True Blood art book. It features 40 pages of the "steamiest stills and hottest poster art" up until this point. It retails for $24.99 and can be picked up on the HBO store website.

See, I listen.

I have been working on this format for a while and I feel like it's finally to my liking. I kind of had enough of the complaints about the white font on black background (that isn't hard to read), so I think this is a little easier on the eyes. It's nothing flashy but I like it.

I also changed the name and the url, as you might have noticed, and if you didn't,,, well, I did!
People didn't believe it when Christopher Nolan said it or when Zack Snyder said it. Hopefully they will believe it now that it's coming straight from the horse's mouth. Christian Bale has stated that not only does he have no interest in continuing to play Batman, but that he has had no conversations with anyone about returning as the Caped Crusader for Justice League.
