The wait is over as we now have official word that Charlie Hunnam has secured the role of Christian Grey, the adopted young billionaire in Fifty Shades of Grey.

This comes after rumors surfaced a week or so ago that Hunnam was under consideration for the role. You probably recognize him from Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim. He will play Christian, the BDSM practicing CEO of his own company who
Fifty Shades of Grey finally has their first casting announcement. Dakota Johnson has landed the coveted, lead role of Anastasia Steele.

You may have seen her previously in supporting roles for 21 Jump Street and The Social Network, but this will be Johnson's first major role. The 23-year old is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and the granddaughter of Tippi Hedren who starred in

This was rumored earlier in the week, but it's been made official that Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) will voice Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel made the announcement today. Now to wait and see if Vin Diesel is actually voicing Groot and we'll be all set.

Three-time Emmy winner James Spader has been cast to play the big villain, Ultron, in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. This casting is rather unexpected and we have no further information other than the actual casting.
There is some speculation about exactly how Spader will play Ultron seeing that he is a robot. Some are guessing Spader might do some motion capture and voice work. Others speculate he

I sure hope this one is a rumor that stays a rumor.

Word on the internets is that Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) has read for an undisclosed role rumored to be Luke Skywalker's son. This comes about after Ryan Gosling declined a role. Also rumored to have read for the role of Leia and Han's daughter is Rachel Hurd-Wood (Solomon Kane).

This honestly disgusts me as I cannot, and I repeat, cannot
It seems as though the double feature is making a comeback. It was announced that theaters nationwide will be hosting an Insidious double feature on Thursday, September 12th. You will have the opportunity to see Insidious on the big screen once more and then watch the premiere of Insidious: Chapter 2 at midnight on Friday, September 13th. Some theaters are starting a bit early and screening the
If you managed to miss World War Z or Star Trek Into Darkness this summer you will have the chance to catch them in theaters once again as Paramount is re-releasing the movies as a double bill over the Labor Day holiday. The Hunger Games casting seems to be going a bit wild right now. This is the third casting announcement in the past couple of days.

We got word via Twitter today that Evan Ross (CW's 90210) has been cast as Messalla, the video production assistant to Cressida. Messalla is a Capitol native who later joins the rebellion and is part of a television crew who follows Katniss to film short propaganda
The third installment of the FX drama series American Horror Story has an official release date of October 9th. The third season, appropriately titled Coven, focuses on witchcraft and takes place over a period of decades in New Orleans.

On deck to appear is Kathy Bates playing a serial killer named Madam LaLaurie. She kept slaves captive in her home in the 1800's. The cast also includes Angela
The new studio album from Nine Inch Nails titled Hesitation Marks officially drops next week on September 3rd, but it was put up for free streaming via iTunes last night as a sneak preview. I'm sure because of it the album has leaked online but that isn't important. I listened to Hesitation Marks last night because I am an impatient fangirl and although I wouldn't say it is a bad album I

I called it.

We still don't have a completed script or any official casting information, but we do have word that Star Wars: Episode VII is looking at a production start in January 21, 2014 with a late, Christmas release in 2015. That is quite sometime after the initial reports of a summer 2015 release. That is closer to 2016 than we thought.

It was previously rumored that Disney was looking
Australian actress Stef Dawson has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2. She will be playing Annie Cresta, a former victor and love interest of Finnick Odair.

If you need some catch up on Annie:

She was the winner from District 4 at the 70th annual Hunger Games entering as a career tribute.
She went a bit insane after witnessing her District 4 partner get beheaded.

We now have a synopsis for the movie that no one seemed to know anything about.

Rumor alert!

I saw this a while ago, but some sources are claiming that Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) has been cast as Lex Luthor for a minimum of six films including Batman vs. Superman. Apparently they are postponing the official press release to give Breaking Bad a time to wrap up and so they can ride the momentum of the finale.

If this is true, Cranston will join Henry Cavill and new cast

We learned the other night that Ben Affleck has signed on to play Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. We now have information that Affleck has signed on for multiple films.

The reception has been overwhelmingly negative in regards to Affleck's casting. There was even a petition proposed to President Obama to make it illegal for Affleck to play Batman. The saddest

Stan Lee, the comic legend, has made somewhat of a regular expectation of having a cameo in Marvel films. They're nothing substantial but when you see a Marvel movie you expect to see Stan Lee at least once. Lee has actually made 17 cameos in the past 13 years. However, Lee will not have a cameo in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This isn't too surprising as he did not appear in X2,
Kevin Feige has confirmed that Ronan the Accuser (played by Lee Pace) is the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Thanos will have a part in the movie. Feige describes the scene as Ronan being the big villain with Thanos sort of overseeing it all and that we will see more than just a couple seconds of him like we did after The Avengers.
There is still no word on casting for Thanos.

Apparently being in one bad comic book movie wasn't enough. Warner Bros. announced today after much speculation who will be playing Bruce Wayne (aka, Batman) in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. That man is Ben Affleck.

Affleck previously played Matt Murdock (aka, Daredevil) in the 2003 Marvel bomb Daredevil. That movie spawned Elektra which was another awful movie, but
We have some casting news for the day.

First up is that Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) has signed onto The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 to play the role of Cressida. If you're unaware of what part Cressida plays, basically she is a resident director of the Capitol who joins the rebellion. She assists Katniss throughout the rebellion and uses her to create anti-Capitol propaganda. You
I wrote just yesterday that Elizabeth Olsen was under consideration for the role of Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. We now have an update that states Olsen is indeed in final negotiations and barring any setbacks has the role locked.

She will join Aaron Taylor-Johnson, if his negotiations are ever finalized, as Magneto's twin children. It will also mark the second collaboration
So long POTC 5 and hello... Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Yeah, there really isn't much else to say here other than we now have the official title for the fifth Pirates movie. Dead Men Tell No Tales seems a bit long, but I guess it isn't worse than Curse of the Black Pearl. We can expect the new Pirates flick during Disney's massive release summer on July 15, 2015.
Casting rumors for the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey have been swirling for months, but there is still nothing official. The only thing we know for sure so far is that Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing and it shares the August 1, 2014 release date with Guardians of the Galaxy.

We're starting to get more casting rumors now as word has come out that the frontrunner for the role of
Filming for Guardians of the Galaxy is currently underway, but there are still some characters that have not been cast. Those would be Groot and Rocket Raccoon. Vin Diesel is apparently on board to voice Groot but it hasn't been officially put through yet, but the rumor now is that Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) has had the offer to voice Rocket Raccoon extended to him.

Natalie Portman had previously secured the role of Lady Macbeth for the upcoming, new adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic, but it has now been announced that Marion Cotillard will replace Portman. I don't know why she needed to be replaced in the first place, but this sort of thing happens all the time. Cotillard will star opposite Michael Fassbender.

Macbeth is slated for production
Originally we got word that Saoirse Ronan was up for the role of Wanda Maximoff (aka, Scarlet Witch) for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. If Olsen gets it, she will most likely be opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) who is the frontrunner to play Petro

If you don't know who Johanna Mason is in the Hunger Games world, she is a previous victor from District 7 with very lethal axe and wrestling training. She is described to Katniss as one of the most lethal threats in the Quarter Quell.

In other words, Johanna is a badass. I can't wait for Catching Fire.

Dave continues as Kick-Ass by joining a group of inspired citizen heroes only to find out that attempting to be both a superhero and a teenager might give more than he bargained for in Kick-Ass 2.

I have been excited for Kick-Ass 2 since I heard it was actually going to happen, so going in I was really pumped. All the characters were back, except for Evan Peters, and the trailer looked great.
Possibly.

Disney president Alan Horn basically confirmed a 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII at D23 last weekend. However, there is still no official, confirmed date. Many speculated, including myself, that the release of Episode VII will be anywhere from May to September 2015. However, new rumors are suggesting that Disney is aiming for a December 2015 release. That would put Episode

In the season six finale of True Blood, Sookie struggles to defeat Warlow at the same time that the vampires are dealing with the aftermath of their escape from the Governor's compound. In other words, it was another jumbled mess of an episode.

I'm not saying I expected a whole lot from this finale, but in a way I expected something that was at least decent. The way the last episode led into the

Say hello to awkward, 70's versions of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Professor X (James McAvoy). This isn't anything special seeing that a majority of the effects aren't close to done, but at least it isn't a random Twitter pic from Bryan Singer.

Universal is really pulling out the stops with Halloween Horror Nights this year. Holy cow.

It was just announced that Universal Studios Orlando will host a maze (aka, Scare Zone) for An American Werewolf in London. The maze will follow the events of the film but will amp up the terror and the intensity. Well, so they say.
Unfortunately this will only be at the Orlando park and not in Hollywood.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been delayed about two months from June 6, 2014 to August 8, 2014. The new adaptation, directed by Jonathan Liebesman, will now face-off against the new Dracula film and The Hundred-Foot Journey. Apparently the push is to separate TMNT from Transformers 4 so each film can enjoy decent profits from toys and other merchandise.

There have been some names thrown out for the role of Ant-Man but so far no one has been cast or even seriously mentioned. Now we have some rumor that Simon Pegg, the frequent collaborator with director Edgar Wright, is being considered for the role.

Apparently Pegg paid a visit to Marvel Studios and posted some photos via Twitter. If you recall, Vin Diesel recently did something similar and
Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights just keeps getting bigger and bigger. In addition to mazes for Evil Dead, The Walking Dead, Insidious: Chapter 2, The Cabin in the Woods, and Black Sabbath 13, we now have word that mazes and "scare zones" for Curse of Chucky and The Purge are joining in.

Bryan Singer seems to be loyal to using the Sentinels in the viral marketing for X-Men: Days of Future Past as we have yet another image of a Sentinel. This time it is a blueprint of a Sentinel helmet.

Despite speculation that Vin Diesel was going to play Vision, Thanos, or Ultron, it seems that he is going to be part of Guardians of the Galaxy. Deadline is reporting that Diesel is in talks to voice Groot, an extraterrestrial plant monster.

News of this came with a rather interesting twist. Diesel apparently changed his Facebook picture to a photo of Groot, but it was quickly taken down and

It appears that Disney might have finally learned a lesson on their latest box office failure, The Lone Ranger. It has been a month after The Lone Ranger's release and the film has only hit $175 million at the box office. And that includes the international sales they were hoping to bank on. The film came with a hefty, and expensive, advertising campaign that didn't help the film one bit.
Now
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, made an announcement stating that Marvel has films planned from now until the year 2021. Yes, that is just shy of 10 years of plans. He also reminded everyone that the plans for 2015 that we know about now were in motion back in 2006.
The plans in question include expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe to include more characters and story arcs. This

I like the song a lot and the teaser is a bit unsettling. I'm still deciding whether I want to watch this season.

For all the Loki buffs, enjoy this trailer. I have a feeling he won't be as big a part of this movie as the trailer suggests but you never know. It is apparently Loki's last appearance so if he goes out with a bang good for him.
Apart from that I think this trailer looks great. Minus the cheesy last scene with the rock monster.

WB has announced their movie plans for the DC universe after several stalls regarding Justice League and the future of all the characters. What we know as of right now is:

A Batman/Superman movie will hit in 2015 in what is described as the sequel to Man of Steel. It is expected that Henry Cavill, Zack Snyder, and Christopher Nolan will all return and I'm sure we will see more information on who

Today we had the panel and Q&A for AMC's The Walking Dead at Comic-Con. We not only learned that season 4 will premiere on October 13th, but we also have the first trailer for the season. It looks like things heat up quite a bit.

A lot of people, including myself, were a bit disappointed about how Season 3 ended but by the looks of this trailer... Season 4 is going to kick some serious ass.

We have a new, extended trailer for Kick-Ass 2 straight from Comic-Con in San Diego. It is branded NSFW primarily due to violence and language, but other than that it's good to go. I personally think it is a bit too long and it probably showed a majority of cool stuff in the movie, but that is pretty much what trailers do these days.

The Conjuring tells the true story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They encounter a supernatural force while investigating the Perron household in 1971. What they find is both disturbing and dangerous.

I have been excited for this movie ever since I saw the clapping teaser trailer earlier this year. I am also a big fan of James Wan's work so I probably would have seen it

I saw this on Twitter earlier. Check out my review of The Conjuring here.

The Conjuring is James Wan's newest horror film and stars Lili Taylor, Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Ron Livingston based on the true story of the Perron family. It starts this Friday, July 19th.

2013 might be the first year since 2009 without a Paranormal Activity film. Sources say that Paramount Pictures is considering delaying the film from October 25, 2013 until an unannounced date in 2014. They are citing uncertainty that the film is exactly what they want. It has been test screened and has received positive numbers, but the studio still isn't positive it's the result they want.
Just when you think you can have nice things, leave it to Hollywood to rain on your parade.

New Line Cinema has made a point to mention their plans to make more films based off the Warrens, the paranormal investigators in which The Conjuring revolves around. You have seen other movies already based off their cases including The Amityville Horror (1979 & 2005) and The Haunting in Connecticut (
Well these are just fantastic.

I am getting very excited for Catching Fire.

Back in March at the SXSW premiere of his Evil Dead reboot, director Fede Alvarez announced a sequel was in the planning stages. Since the film has been released on DVD (today to be exact) Alvarez has begun to discuss the sequel a bit more.

Alvarez said they are still working with Sam Raimi and discussing exactly what they want to do with the sequel. He also said being a child of the 80's, he
So far the only project announced for Universal Studios' annual Halloween Horror Nights was for The Cabin in the Woods. Now we have some news that there will also be a haunted maze for Evil Dead. Naturally it will be based off the 2013 reboot directed by Fede Alvarez and will feature, like the film did, an abundance of practical effects.

From what I understand, there isn't going to be a panel for Carrie seeing that it had a presence at 2012's Comic-Con because the original release date was this past March, but it looks as though they are still going to use the promotional opportunity.

Carrie opens on October 18 and stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.

HBO has chosen to renew their hit vampire drama True Blood for a seventh season. The sixth season is currently underway and, in my opinion, is as lackluster as the past 3 seasons have been. This is the first season where creator Alan Ball has not been the showrunner.
Season 7 will air next summer on HBO most likely in early to mid June.

There have been some questions about who exactly will attend Comic-Con for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire panel. We now have the answer.

The cast members attending will be Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Lenny Kravitz (Cinna), Jena Malone (Johanna), Jeffrey Wright (Beetee), and Willow Shields (Primrose). Also set to attend is director Francis
We now have the full first single, "Hail to the King," from the new Avenged Sevenfold album.

I said the preview sounded bad and you know what? The whole song sounds just as bad. I hope the whole album doesn't sound like this. It's boring, the drums are ridiculously repetitive, and it's the worst chorus. People are blaming the fact that The Rev is gone, but come on. Even the non-single songs

See, I listen.

I have been working on this format for a while and I feel like it's finally to my liking. I kind of had enough of the complaints about the white font on black background (that isn't hard to read), so I think this is a little easier on the eyes. It's nothing flashy but I like it.

I also changed the name and the url, as you might have noticed, and if you didn't,,, well, I did!
People didn't believe it when Christopher Nolan said it or when Zack Snyder said it. Hopefully they will believe it now that it's coming straight from the horse's mouth. The cast for the rather unnecessary Expendables 3 has grown a little bit. Officially joining the cast is Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes, and Milla Jovovich. It has been rumored that Chan and Cage were joining for a while, but they are apparently in "advanced negotiations" as of right now and will be joining. Jovovich is also said to be a part of the boys team.

AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan said on Wednesday that with the network losing Breaking Bad and Mad Men there are no plans at the current moment to end The Walking Dead. He is quoted saying:

One thing I will give American Horror Story credit for... they manage to attract semi-popular film actors to do television. That is rare.

There is something odd about this poster to me. I don't know if it just doesn't look real or whether it's the fact that they gave Katniss angel wings. In reality I think it just looks a little too retro for the logo and for the film itself. It takes away from the feeling the first poster gave us.
