Well this is sad news.

Kick-Ass 2 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again have had their release dates pushed back. Kick-Ass was originally slated for June 28, 2013 and will now be released on August 16, 2013. The Hobbit's original release was set to be July 18, 2014 but it will now be released on December 17, 2014.
The moves seem to be all about competition. It appears they didn't want The Hobbit
The cast for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes continues to grow. In the past week or so we learned that Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee had joined the cast and now we have confirmation that Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, just about everything) has also been cast. It's been suggested that Oldman is going to play Dreyfus, the leader of the human resistance against

Archer has dominated the time slot it has on FX drawing in 44% more viewers in the 18-34 age bracket than it did for Season 2 and 36% more viewers than Season 3. It also is the #2 top watched cable show
Movie news has been pretty slow lately, so why not do some random fun stuff. After the announcement that Nine Inch Nails is returning this year I started listening full force again and watching the music videos. I saw a columnist on Bloody-Disgusting sharing his favorite NIN videos, so I thought I would do the same. It's always fun to see the comparisons.

I think my love
It seems like FX is trying to bring back some Annie Wilkes. It was confirmed this week that Kathy Bates has joined the cast of the FX drama American Horror Story for season 3 where she will play Jessica Lange's best friend turned enemy.
Aside from Jessica Lange, AHS veterans also returning for season 3 are Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, and Sarah Paulson. This will also

Yet another new rumor circling around the unfortunate remake of The Crow.

Rumor as it James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class, Wanted) may play the title role of Eric Draven in the remake of The Crow. The story of The Crow, in case you don't know, is of Eric Draven after he is brutally murdered along with his fiance. I am so excited for this I can't really describe how exciting this is. I am so ready for this.

Here's the word from the man himself:

"Nine Inch Nails are touring this year.
I was working with
Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on
performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later)
led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch
Not only do we now know what Spider-Man's new costume looks like in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but we also have a new image from Carrie starring Chloe Moretz.

Just a little over a month away!

Nothing too surprising this year, but it was a good show. I have to say because I can admit when I am wrong... Seth MacFarlane was a great host. I hope he hosts again in the future.

Anyway, here are the winners!

* Best Picture:
Argo

* Best Actor:
Daniel Day-Lewis - Lincoln

* Best Actress:
Jennifer Lawrence - Silver Linings Playbook

* Best Director:
Ang Lee - Life of Pi

* Best Original
This is exciting.

Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) is not only up for a Best Actress Oscar tonight, but it has been confirmed that she will headline a new Annie reboot where she will star in the title role. The film has been planned for a holiday 2014 release so probably November or December. The President of Production at Columbia commented on Wallis' talent stating her "amazing

The Razzies basically awards actors and movies for the worst performances of the year, in case you weren't aware.

This year The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 walked away with seven total taking the categories for Worst Ensemble, Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple (Taylor Lautner and
I think there are going to be some surprises waiting for us regarding the 85th annual Academy Awards, but for now I am going to share my predictions for how the awards will go this year. I'm not going to predict every category as I have not seen every movie, such as documentary shorts and foreign films, but I will do my best.

Best Picture:
I think Argo is going to take this one. Starting out a
After the addition of Jason Clarke last week the cast seems to be gaining some more momentum with the announcement of another lead role. Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, ParaNorman) has been cast in another unspecified lead role. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes place 15 years after the events of the first film and focuses on the human survivors struggling to survive in San Francisco. The thing

I squealed a little bit.

After Matthew Vaughn dropped out of the director's chair for X-Men: Days of Future Past I think just about everyone was wondering what other projects he had on his plate. It seems Fantastic Four was on his list. It was announced today by Mark Millar via Twitter that Vaughn was set to produce the upcoming reboot to be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle).

I thought we were getting Fantastic Four

Peter Dinklage, most commonly known for Game of Thrones, was confirmed last week for X-Men: Days of Future past and almost immediately there was conversation about which character he might have been cast as. Bryan Singer has pretty much confirmed for us that Dinklage will be playing the "main antagonist" and also knocked down the rumor that he was going to be a CGI character due to the fact that

Just because I have always preferred the PS to any other gaming device. Yeah I said it. The Xbox can suck it.

Sony announced at an NY event today that their next gaming console will be the PlayStation 4. This is the next major console following the PlayStation 3 which was released in 2006.
The PS4 will be equipped with an x86 processor with 8 CPU's, enhanced GPU, and 8GB of RAM. It also will
I am shaking my head as I write this...

Universal announced a couple of things. First of all, the big one is they are hoping to release the film adaptation for EL James' novel Fifty Shades of Grey by summer 2014. That puts it a little over a year out from now which means they need to get on casting and production mighty quick. What else does that mean? It will probably suck more than it already

Not only will Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (damn that is a tongue twister) take place 15 years after the first film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but it now has its first star. Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Lawless, Public Enemies) has been cast in a lead role in what has said to be a story about human scientists struggling to survive alone in San Francisco. The plot is unconfirmed as
Director Bryan Singer sent this image via Twitter. To me it just looks like prototype wheelchairs for Professor X, but you be the judge.

Well... at least we finally have a potential positive about this whole Star Wars situation.

John Williams (Star Wars I-VI, Jurassic Park, Superman, etc.) is hoping to return and score the new Star Wars films Disney is rolling forward. However, speculation is high due to Abrams' long history with composer Michael Giacchino (Lost, Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Trek). However, Giacchino has also

The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows an introvert boy named Charlie as he starts his freshman year of high school. He watches from the sidelines until two seniors, Sam and Patrick, take him under their wings and introduce him to their group of friends where he learns lessons on high school, sexuality, drugs, and life in general.

I knew The Perks of Being a Wallflower was based on a book and
Latino Review is claiming they have the scoop on a pretty big announcement. The rumor is that Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams.

Now... Latino Review is pretty reputable and have a good track history with these sort of things, so I am not just brushing this off as of right now. I don't anticipate they will bring

Yesterday news broke that Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) had been added to the steadily growing cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer announced the addition via Twitter and speculation of which role Dinklage will have began almost immediately. While the character still remains unannounced we do know that he will indeed be playing the villain.

Like I said, speculation is all

Bryan Singer is continuing to make some bold decisions regarding X-Men: Days of Future Past and he isn't really hiding it. Singer announced via Twitter that he has tapped Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) for a key role in the film. There is no word on exactly what role this is. Dinklage is joining several cast members who have a pretty solid history with the X-Men movies thus far so it should be
Yeah, that is a thing.

The Walking Dead returned to AMC this past Sunday to finish off its third season. Now that the ratings have arrived it seems that the fans obviously had no interest in watching the Grammys.

The show shattered a previous series high in viewers setting a new record with 12.3 million viewers in the first time slot and an additional 4.3 million for the 10pm replay. The previous record was 10.3

Director Bryan Singer is beginning some teasing regarding X-Men: Days of Future Past. Not only is Singer teasing us with potentially doing full CGI for one or two characters but he is also not quite sure whether Halle Berry will return as Storm or if Storm will appear at all.

Regarding the CG characters Singer had this to say to MTV when asked about the current technology:

"A CG Nick Hoult or a

Moonrise Kingdom is the tale of two 12-year old children who fall in love and decide to run away together in their small New England island town. Their disappearance causes a town-wide search party to go after them during the biggest storm in the island's history.

The only reason I watched Moonrise Kingdom was because of the hype it had received during this awards season. I honestly knew

Disney is about an inch away from making me go insane.

EW is claiming two of the Star Wars spin-offs Disney is planning will be a movie about a young Han Solo and a movie about Boba Fett. The Solo film would take place in the time between Revenge of the Sith (Episode III) and A New Hope (Episode IV). The Boba Fett movie would take place between A New Hope (Episode IV) and Empire Strikes Back (

Disney is sure having a field day with this new toy they acquired.

Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the rumor of stand-alone Star Wars films that will not be part of the new trilogy is in fact true. Disney is working on separate Star Wars films that are not going to be considered an "episode" that fits into the new Star Wars trilogy which is set to begin with Episode VII. Here is an excerpt
Many names have been floating around regarding the role of Peter Quill (aka, Star-Lord) in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy over the past couple months. That list included Zachary Levi, Jim Sturgess, Joel Edgerton, John Krasinski, Lee Pace, Michael Rosenbaum etc.. One name that I don't think anyone gave much attention to was Chris Pratt and oddly enough he is the actor who has

While it appeared that the only way we may continue seeing Bruce Banner (aka, the Hulk) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was through small parts and/or cameos it seems that we were wrong. Or could still be wrong.

Rumor has it that Marvel is working on a separate storyline for the Hulk that will send him far away and will take place in another stand-alone Hulk movie. Kevin Feige pretty much

We knew people loved Wreck-It Ralph but I don't know if people anticipated it would practically demolish the competition at the 2013 Annie Awards. The Disney Animation film walked away with 5 awards (out of 10 nominations) including Best Animated Feature.

Best Animated Feature:
Wreck-It Ralph

Best Director:
Rich Moore - Wreck-It Ralph

Best Writing:
Phil Johnston & Jennifer Lee - Wreck-It Ralph

Rumor has it that we have the female lead for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Emily VanCamp (Revenge) has apparently landed the role which is rumored to be Sharon Carter, an occasional girlfriend of Captain America. This is still unconfirmed, but I don't doubt this is true.
